The competition entry for the factory, laboratory and administration building creates a central entrance area with public appeal and links this with the existing building and the nearby natural space. By incorporating the orthogonal organizational geometry and strategic placement of the development, the urban space is clearly defined. The theme of water is taken up as a didactic element and conveys the function of the facility – water as corporate identity and added value for the city of Nuremberg. The modular conception of the supporting structure and the building structure allows a high flexibility. In addition to open spaces and loggias for employees, the building skin also offers the important possibility of cross-ventilation together with the interior access. The architectural design is characterized by the modular grid and the generous sun protection elements.
