The primary starting point is the lack of a local center. The new functions have the potential to form an urban square with the future town hall, which meet the need for inner-city urbanity. Clear street alignments form the new “main square” as the new center of Wolfurt and form an axis with the historic village center and the church. The social and commercial center contributes to the public atmosphere with its variety of functions and opening to the square. A public “urban wilderness” is accessible via the courtyard. However, the jury rated the function of the social center higher and did not award this design.
