MEHRWERT SIMMERING

The Master Plan Mehrwert Simmering for the land facing the Gasometer won first prize in the town planning competition in 1998. “Through the master plan, the possible future structures, functions and uses are defined in a milestone plan. It is intended to create a ‘linking’ between the gasometers and Simmering. “(City of Vienna)
The centrepiece of the recreational landscape is a central park with generous “long lacquers”. The new “Gasometerspange” runs along the subway route and connects the development area with the new shopping and leisure centre in the monumental gasometers. The urban “added value” of the entire district is created for the residents by sufficient social infrastructure and an attractive living and working environment.
In 2002/3, the town planning concept of added value Simmering was unanimously approved by the municipal council. The start individual projects followed.
