MANAGEMENT CENTER INNSBRUCK

Our design for the eu-wide architecture competition proposed a highly flexible construction with a four-story high atrium at building’s centre. It serves as the central circulation space, therefore stimulating informal communication and bringing natural daylight inside the building. Rotatable lamellas with photovoltaic sheeting would open during winter and let the sunlight heat the inside, while they would rotate during summer, providing shadow and at the same time generating electricity using solar power. A multifunctional plaza in front of the building and a generous roof landscape on top of it make the MCI accessible to everyone and serve as an extension of public space.
